when my screen is dark on my 65 inch sony wide screen tv I see 8 to 10 curved blue lines any idea :( :( it also happens when i change the channels. I disconnected the cable. It still happens with a blank tv

Hello, I had a similar problem with my Toshiba 50 inch. The blue gun could not align itself or "converge" with the other two primary guns in that area. In my case,It was due to the blue convergence chip being bad. In your case, look into getting a service manual and see if your set has an auto alignment (or Magic Focus as in my case) function mode. Like my old Hitachi, you can also bring up a grid and align all the colors (reg,green.blue) using your remote to go to each quadrant and line them up over each other (I actually get a white color when they are all over each other). I Just posted a note here to see if someone can help me with my problem. I feel like im close to it but wanted some other ideas and insight. Good Luck! :thumbup:
