My wife and I recently bought our first house, a forecloser, and in the basement there is a potential theater room, :) The pervious owner had great ideas in the basement, to until he went to prison) anyway the speaker holes are cut, and the wiring is run however there is one problem, all the wires go to a back room and are just hanging there? Nothing is labeled!!!

I am a beginner when it comes to stereos, however I cant wait to start learning, this room could be awesome, Can anyone suggest a web site with diagrams and pictures!!!!! I need to know what wires are what? There are TV cabels, stereo wires, coaxels cabels or whatever cabels......everything, :wall: I have no clue what they are? HELP Thanks Tim

You need a "toner". It comes in a transmitter and a receiver. You connect the trasnmitter to one end of a cable, and the receiver amongst the ends of the each of the cables, ant the one wit the transmitter connected will sound. I'd get labeller also.

A. Those toners are expensive though, if loose enough, get a friend, you in one room and friend in other, tugg on lightly see which one moves.

B. Hook stereo to one speaker wire, connect other side to speaker until it plays.

C. Sit and stare in amazement that there is only one wire coming down from a light switch which you cant figure out (in my case)/
