The top 3-4 inches of my TV screen is folded over. The top of the screen is black and you can see what is supposed to be displayed there upsidedown in the picture below it. The only way I can describe it is that the picture is folding.
This has been going on for a while now and it used to clear up if the TV was on long enough, but recently it thas gotten worse and it no longer clears up. It's a 27 inch JVC. I am unsure of the model.
Any idea what could be going on?

Failing caps in the vertical circuit. Shouldn't be that hard, since the vertical drive is little more than an audio amp.

Cool, thanks.
Just one question.
How would one go about fixing this? I have put in lots of time fixing electronics, just not TVs.

field foldover is usually related to feedback /linearity problems within the field op stage
check and replace all capacitors(electrolytics) to do with the field stage, check the supply to the field ic and all soldering in that area.....it shouldnt be too hard to get it going again...
