after a cleaning the downstairs bathroom i turned the hot water off. after a few minutes i heard a tick type sound. it lasted a good amount of time. i tried turning the water supply off and still the sound. when i told my husband he thinks it is just the water going through the pipes. is he right? and will i hear a leak or see a leak? there was no noise this morning until i ran the water again. thank you

Not sure where you live but am guessing it is getting cold there. The ticking is probably the pipes from the hot water expanding or contracting. It is most likely rubbing a stud in the wall. The colder it gets, the faster the contractions will happen. It's always wise to look for leaks but I don't think you have one. Good luck.
