Hi,
We are replacing everything in our old kitchen. My wife wants a Whirlpool electric stove instead of a gas one like our old stove simply because it is easier to clean due to a complete flat surface.
I heard that the eletric stove is more expensive than the gas one. It probably takes a little longer to get heated but it is probably easier to plug in.
What are the other differences between these two types?

Hello fh2000 and Welcome to my Gas Appliances topic.
Energy costs may vary in your area but usually electric costs more. As for which to buy, can't say because the choice is a personal one based upon your wants and needs. Electric ranges usually a hard wired into a seperate 220-240 volt circuit. If none is presently available, you will need to have an electrician install the power and meet the codes required in your area, etc.

Alway's consider the warranties and future service needs for any major appliances you're considering to purchase. Price isn't always the best guide for long term appliance investments.
