I have a leak at the base of our toilet. The toilet is grouted to the floor.
Attempting to rock and remove a toilet in a similar situation resulted in breaking the toilet. Any ideas on how to avoid breaking this one, and getting it off the floor? The floor is 12 x12 ceramic tile.

coachholl, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
I have never encountered this problem before. Usually the grout either stays on the floor or the toilet bowl or parts on each. You may have to try chipping out the grout carefully to break the seal. Twisting ,rather than rocking, may be the best way to remove it. Good luck.

Thanks, majakdragon,
My brother came up with the solution of "chiseling" around the base repeatedly with a razor knife and a thin, sharp screwdriver, and eventually got enough of the sealant out so that the bowl would rock.
Thanks for such a fast reply to my thread.
