Good day;
I have a ceiling fan with light. The chains for both the light & the fan are broken (pulled right out). The chains can not be found after we moved into our new home. I want to install the fan and have both the light and the fan working with the flick of the switch but I'm having some difficulty.

You can remove both pull chain switches (after very, very carefully recording their connections). Then take the switches to the home center and buy exact replacements.

But unless you really love this fan, and it's an expensive one, I'd probably just buy a new fan.

Thanks John, but is there no way i could bypass the switch and connect the fan straight. The light is not a problem, it comes on ok. But the fan cannot be turned on without the swith. To buy the replacement switches is an option if our stores here in Jamaica sells them and the don't. They want me,
as you suggested, to buy a new fan. There has got to be away to work a bypass.
