Help! I had a new shower door installed and the plumber did not seal the seam in the shower door adequately. The seam leaks between the shower pan and the seam of the shower door. It now leaks water onto the floor nad floods the bathroom.

It is NOT a manufacture defect but an installation defect. Now, I have had the plumber out three times and it still leaks. They have made the seam unsightly and it still leaks.

Do you have any suggestions on what to do next? I do not want this plumber to come out again because I don't trust their expertise (they came highly regarded by many local email sights).

Thank you for any suggestions.

Have another plumber come in and remove the door completely and install a brand new one. If the old (new) one is not expensive, then consider this situation a fluke. Hopefully the new plumber will rectify the problem.

As a plumber myself I try to avoid installing shower doors and the like; if it isn't pipe and fittings and I'm not doing it on a daily basis, I usually farm it out to a company that installs doors and the like on average. Less problems and they know the routine like I know plumbing.

markymark, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
My best advice would be to contact the door manufacturer and seek their advice on what the reasons are that the door does not seal. THEN, call the company that installed it and request that it be fixed properly or they pay for it to be done right. This may end up in Small Claims court so document everything that has and does happen. Good luck.
