Water is dripping from faucet and need to change washer behind control.
It is a "Symmon's Tempatrol" single knob, on/off/, hot/cold and lower faucet to shower diverter. Took out the plug covering screw head inside knob and then unscrewed the screw beneath cover plug. It seems no matter what way I turn the control I can't remove this big "dial" type handle and even got to the point of trying to pry it with a flathead screwdriver. Don't want to break it, but not sure how to remove this main control knob so I can hopefully get to the washer? Any suggestions? Has anyone even heard of Symmons Tempatrol? Thank You in advance!

Symmons Temptrol will need a new spindle, or a rebuild kit. You will most likely also want to replace the hot and cold seats. This will require 2 special seat tools. All these parts are readily available, but not at HD.

Try a handle puller tool for the handle.
