Hi Guys,
We have a 5" flue which vents through a ridge tile on the roof. There used to be a gas fire and backboiler. Can anyone advise whether we can connect up a small wood burning stove to this arrangement? If not, what sort modifications might we need.
Many thanks for any suggestions. Danny :)

Danny, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Things are different in all areas. You should check with a fireplace shop or chimney sweep to find the regulations in your area. I would also advise checking with your homeowners insurance company. Where I live, I can install a fireplace with no problem but if I install a freestanding woodburner I have to increase my insurance coverage and have it inspected by them. Good luck.
