Sudden problems with our 14 year old gas water heater. Water on the floor that was coming from multiple places. Biggest leak was from the hot water line coming out of the top of the tank. It was also leaking from the top seam around the circumference of the tank. I'm assuming that we blew some type of gasket and the heater needs to be replaced. Could it just be a faulty pressure valve?

New water heater time. There is no gasket, it is a one piece tank with insulation and an outer shell of sheet metal. It is possible that the leak from either the inlet or outlet line could give the appearance of leakage around the top seam, but it's 14 years old. I wouldn't want to be the one to try to loosen or tighten the lines that have sat there for a long time.
