Hey everyone, this is my first post here and was hoping someone would be able to help me out.
This has happened once before and it happened again tonight:
After sparking the pilot light, I would flip the dial over and it would start the logs up, the flame goes across from right to left..but after 3 or 4 seconds, the flame slowly comes back from the left to about the middle and the flame becomes much larger. The first time this happened, I didn't realize there was something wrong with it and the basement smelt heavily of gas. I have tried it a few times tonight and it keeps on doing the same thing....also, if I turn the dial back down to just the pilot setting, there are two small flames instead of just the regular one for the pilot light.
The first time this happened I just shut it off for the night, and the next night it worked fine, and every night after up until tonight. The first incident was about 2 weeks ago.
Thanks in advance for any replies,
dabobcan
