I have wallboard that looks like tile glued onto my plaster walls. Is there any way to remove this without ruining the plaster? I was thinking of using a heat gun to soften the glue but am not sure if this would work.

I bet you could peel off the fake tile board easily - and then you're left w/ the glue. I bet it doesn't go under the baseboards and door casings. You have real plaster, right? Take a 3" razor scraper ( has removable blades) and carefully scrape the glue off as best as possible. Repair your nicks and gouges w/ Durabond or joint compound. sand, prime, paint. Then call the idiot who put that crap up and bawl him out! He's probably a 49 ers fan!
