Splicing from a light switch. I am adding a ceiling light fixture to a room. The only way to get juice to the fixture is to splice from the light switch. Here is what is coming into the light switch. I have 2 different types of wire coming into the switch box. one has a blk, grnd, and white. The other has a blk, red, white and grnd. I would like to utilize the swith for the new fixture that I am putting up. I can get to power supplky from switch from attic, so I really don't want to rip any walls up to do this so if someone can send me in the right direction that would be great. I am sure I can figure this out, but would like some solid info.

Sure, this is easy. Just tell us the existing connections in the switch box.

Ok, I hope I can explain this.....
Coming into the juction box (light switch). I currently have a dimmer switch, I can change this if need be.
2 white coming in,nutted together.
2 black coming in,nutted together, then attached to one of the blk from switch
1 red coming in, attached to other black from switch.
The switch currently controls a singlr receptacle. Which we can just change and keep it hot. What ever is the easiest.
I now want to wire in a ceiling fan to this combo.
1 black
1 white
1 ground
Thanks for the help.

Let me call the existing black/white cable "D" (it goes downstream somewhere--we don't really care where). Let me call the existing black/red/white cable "R" (it comes from the receptacle). And let me call your new black/whtie cable from the switch box to the ceiling fan "C". I'll then use "b", "r" and "w" to refer to black, red and white wires respectively.
If you want the receptacle to remain switched: Leave the current Db to Rb, pigtailed to the switch screw as is. Connect Cb to Rr to a pigtail to the other switch screw. Connect Cw in with Dw and Rw.If you want the receptacle to be unswitched: Remove Rr from the switch, and connect it instead to Db and Rb (which remain pigtailed to the other switch screw). Connect Cb to the switch screw that you took Rr off of. Connect Cw in with Dw and Rw.
