I have been told that to clean the inside of my stainless steel chimney on the wood stove I should use a nylon brush as the metal ones will start a problem with rust/ corrosion. I have searched every where local and on the net and cannot find any thing but metal brushes. Can any one tell me what is the proper thing to do when cleaning the crosote out of a double insulated stainless chimminy/stack of a wood stove?????

Yes, metal brushs score the inside of the pipe and allow creosote to build-up that much faster. But its hard to believe you cant find a nylon brush.
What size are you looking for?

Bigbry, Thanks for the link. I never thought of checking ACE. I`ve been looking in woodstove shops and all they had was metal brushes. The link also led me to Rutand Co. web site which is just full of useful info. Thanks again,Dalton.
