I am faced with a prefab wood burning metal fireplace with glass doors that works fine in all respects except there is a draft after the the embers have completely cooled. It was installed in a framed portion of a room addiition and a brick hearth and surround was installed. Damper appears to close as tight as to be expected (no light visible). Vents on glass doors are kept closed. The flue was installed in a constructed chase by the builder.
Any suggestions on how to determine if the air leak is through the flue or in the chase? If it can be determined does anyone have any suggestions for sealing the air leak?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Use an insence stick to create a little smoke and hold it in various places to determine where the draft may be coming from.
