Sorry, I doubt that I have anything to add to your skills. However, I have a question of my own, maybe you can help. I've been asked by a church to try to discover the value of @ 20 stained glass windows that have been removed from the building. Installed in 1967, each panel appears to be an assembly of angled glass but, when placed side by side, they form a complete religious picture. Church members want to find a home for the panels before they break in storage. Can you give me advice or direct me to someone that might have this answer?
I will greatly appreciate any direction you might give me. Thanks!

Deltadude: if you don't get adequate instruction here, i would suggest you do an internet search for "how to make leaded stained glass windows" (or something similar). i'm sure there are plenty of how-to websites that will give you detailed step-by-step instructions.
jdileo: for an accurate estimate, i would think the expert would need to see the windows firsthand. try looking in your local phone book for stained or leaded glass artists. if there are none, try insurance people or appraisers/auctioneers, or do an internet search for "stained glass appraisals". i'm sure you'll find someone who can help you. you might be able to take pictures & send them by email to someone not local, if all else fails.
good luck to you both!

You aren't the only glasser on here.....lol
I also do stained glass! I'm not very experienced at it yet. But I love it.
Anyway, if ya wanna find an excellent site try this one: xxxxxxx
I am a member here and the people are great! It's for everyone and any level of experience. And the people there love to help you out. You'll very quickly learn who the pros are. And be sure to check out the links page. There are two excellent Japanese artists who explain alot of tech. info in great detail. If you wonder which ones they are... send me a note and I'll look up the links for you. One of them explains how to make your own lampshade mold out of wood. And how to make your own patina. Plus everything else.
I could go on forever...... but please check it out yourself and let me know what you think.

I am on a new construction committee where we are, when we raise enough money. going to move stained glass windows from a 200 year old church and install them in the new structure. If you have any suggestions, I am open to take back to the committee.
