I had my bathroom remodeled and finsihed angle stops hadn't arrived when plumber was finishing installation, so he put some temporary angle stops on so we could use the sinks. The new ones have arrived, and I unscrewed the old one and screwed on the new, but it leaks.

It is copper pipe with compression/screwed connection.

Do I need to use some pipe compound?

Could be the angle tops are bad... happened to me and I got new one from a differert manufacturer lot and they worked fine. Could also be that you need to cut the cooper back a little to a none crimped section before installing your pieces.
