I have a Lennox Duraglass G11-110 furnace. Yesterday the fan motor started giving trouble. It won't start by itself. Furnace blower starts, but when time for fan to start a few minutes later, all I hear is an electrical hum for a few seconds, then the hum stops (presumably because a thermal protector tripped) I removed the belt from the motor to remove any load from it and turned it on. Still only a hum. I then started the motor by turning the shaft by hand while motor was energized and making the electrical hum (unsafe, I know) and it started right up. I do not see a capacitor mounded to the side of the motor as I am used to seeing with other industrial motors. My question is--Does my motor have a capacitor that I can replace? or am I going to have to replace the whole motor? The Info on the motor's tag is:
Emerson Belted fan and Blower duty
Model Number: S55NXDFZ-2318
Cat Number P83497
1/3 HP 1725 RPM
SF 1.35
115V 60Hz Code M
A 5.8 SFA 6.3
Continuous Duty
Additionally:
--What does "Code M" mean?
--What does "SFA 6.3" mean?
--How do I refer to the motor mount. There is a cradle thingie that holds to motor at the front and back of the shaft (actually the motor housing) with a band at each of these locations around the motor housing. Is the size of these bands standard across all brands of motor (i.e. the diameter of the cradle that holds the motor) or are there different sizes for different brands?
Please help as my family is freezing and I am too cheap to pay for a repair call that I can do myself!? :)

Go to any electric motor shop or HVAC supply house & get a 1/3 hp, 115v., 1725 rpm, belted blowe motor. They should be readilly available. It will come with the mounting plate attached. You will have to swap over the tensioner bolt(s) & the pulley.
That motor is a split phase & has no capacitor. Most you will find are reversible rotation so be sure the rotation is right before you install it.
