Hi folks, I just discovered this great site and I'm hoping someone can help. My wife and I recently bought our first home :D , and I'm trying to install a pedestal sink in the upstairs bathroom, but the floor is not level (about 3 or 4 degrees off) in either direction. It's a 1940s house, so there are hardly any 90degree angles to be found! LOL. I tried making a form and pouring cement leveling compound, but it's still a bit lumpy. Tried it twice actually, sifting all of the gravel out the second time. Still no luck. I'm hesitant to use plastic shims because of the concentrated stress it would put on the shimmed areas of the pedestal. This is on a tiled, finished floor, BTW. Is there a liquid-shim type product I can get at Home Depot? I work in the aerospace supply industry, and we have lots of 2-part liquids and resins I could use, but not at $200+/quart! I'm thinking the best solution would be some kind of low viscosity 2-part pourable organic like a urethane kit.
Thanks,
Duncan

You could use the shims and then grout. The dried grout would give you full support. Grout also comes in colors. Good luck.
