I recently bought balloon drapes (not valance) and there are plastic "hooks" on the back to bustle it up but I can't figure out how to make it look like the picture - any suggestions?

So, you've got a balloon shade then? are there cords running through the plastic rings?

were they custom or readymade?

if readymade, what company? no instructions enclosed?

do they look like this?? No directions and no thread - the bottom plastic ring is like a key ring to attach to the other rings so I don't think it calls for a ring (there are 4 different ones to alter the length). I bought them from Target (Simply Shabby Chic) but no instructions.

Here is the product:

well, the one customer review written about the product says she couldn't figure it out either! so you're not alone!

the picture of yours looks like they tried to make it look more tailored by pulling each "layer" as flat as possible. they probably hid any extra fabric behind each layer. i wouldn't try too hard to perfectly replicate the picture. i'd go for a more rumpled look like in the pic i posted.

nothing ever looks like the picture!!

I feel much better - I thought I was just drapery challenged. Thanks for the input.
