I am hanging drywall in my basement over insulated 2x4 stud walls for fire protection. I will be installing 3/4" x 6" x 8' tongue and groove pine paneling over the drywall. Do I need to tape the joints for any reason?

Sheetrock fire walls [like between apartment attics] are required to be taped. I don't know if this applies in your situation.
