I had no choice but to power wash my 5 year old deck.

now iv got a hairy type substance only in certain areas??

i can snap a pic if need be.

any idea what it is,how do i get rid of it...

id like to finish this project by winter. :D

You hit it too hard and damaged the wood. Now you need to sand.

what size grit on the paper?anything else i should know so i don`t screw this step up :(

100 grit is good for a deck. I use a belt sander.
