i have bought 600 x 300x 9.5mm ceramic wall tiles. shop said normal non slip tile adhesive was ok .now someone has told me you need special adhesive for this size of tile. background is plasterboard with skim coat plaster on 3 sides other wall is solid plastered

Use thinset, from a bag, that you mix. If it comes in a bucket it will be an inferior bond
