I have another posts that shows I'm trying to put in a furnace myself.Everything was going good.I went to hook up the electric and noticed (before I started the connect) that there is a part that looks like it melted. It is definately part of the ignition.Looks like a coil of some sort.A wire kind of like a spark plug wire is connected to it.I'm sure its to ignite the pilot.Well any way it said [DANGER] right on it.I will have it replaced.I have the other furnace for parts. Is there anyway I can light the pilot without electric on?I tried but with no luck.I dont want to run it like that but it would be nice to see something happen to let me know this thing will work.Thanks.

Don't try firing the furnace by hand, the flame may roll back and burn you pretty bad. It shouldn't take you long to change the part yourself.
