I just bought a house in VT and replaced the Honeywell Round Thermo with a ritetemp programmable digital thermostat. Im not sure but it seems now that when the desired temps get reached it turns off the heater but the blower stays on. I know thats normal but it seems alot longer now. With the old round one there was a setting for longer and shorter something with amps I think. how would i go about getting that info from my furnace? Maybe this programmable wont work with my furnace? Btw Great forums spent about 2 hours reading here on some stuff. have a pressure problem with my jacuzzi brothers pump and galv tank only getting about 35psi need tofigure out how to get it higher.

How long the blower remains on after setpoint is met in a gas furnace is controlled by the furnace not the stat.
How old is your furnace and make/model#'s also.

Ok thanks for the info. I dont know how old it is really I know when they did the inspection the guy said the burner was fairly new and its a good brand something like jackson or soemthing Im not sure. I moved the thermostat last night away from the outside wall and window and put in the middle of the house it seems alot better now. I think I know why its "seems like its working different. Cause with the round one the anticipator would say ok im at 64 and he wants it at 65 so if I turn off now the heat left in the heat excahnger will warm it up to 65. The elec one doesnt do that it stays on till it hits 65 and then it turns off the furnace and the blower keeps the heat coming off the heat exchanger and it gets up to like 67. I wish there was a way to fix that on my thermo. I currently have it on a swing of 3 which is default. Myave I should change that?
