We are considering to install laminate flooring from IKEA in my living/dining room. Does any one have any experience with these floors? Also are there better manufacturers than others? How do I tell the difference?

David, I believe there have been some posts on that product in here before.

As far as brands go, I think Wilsonart is far and away the best laminate you can buy, with Pergo a distant second.

Good luck

My husband and I installed laminate flooring last year and we love it. We got a really good deal on Pickering-it's like Pergo but made in the USA. Installing flooring is a trick, and requires a lot of additional expenses (i.e rental straps etc) We plan on installing flooring in a new house that we are in escrow in, but we do remember how difficult it was to do. We saved a lot by doing it ourselves, but it was hard. Good luck and I think you will enjoy it! Kris
