I need to replace the sealer where the furnace [oil] flue goes through the basement wall to chimeny.Existing is grey cement good for 3000 F.
I seen in other houses they use what looks like red caulking rated at 600F
Can i use either one ?
Thank you

Go back with the cement. It's very simple to do and looks better.

If the draft regulator is between the heater & the wall, I would not expect the temperature to be over 300-400º, if that. I do agree with Jay on the use of furnace cement.
