my wife wants to put hardwood into our full bathroom. Is dampness to big of a problem for this? I plan on using 3/4 inch strips.

Wood in a full bath isn't a good idea, especially 3/4". It's too dimentionally unstable (i.e. it moves arounf too much with fluctuating moisture).
