I have French/Garden doors off my kitchen dining area. We use this door as our primary entrance. My dilemma is that I do not know what to put up for window coverings as only the one door opens and the other one is like a window that you open with the screen on the inside. This means I can't hang regular blinds and am not sure if I should use verticals or hang casual tab top panels to keep the room more casual. Any other ideas? :wall:

it's not a sliding door, it's a french door? then you can mount most any kind of 1" blind or shade directly to the door. if you don't want to hear blinds clanging on your doors every time you open & close them, you could use soft fabric shades like these (http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/productlist.aspx?CatTyp=DEP&DeptID=25437&Dep=Window&PCatID=28421&PCat=Decks+%26+Doors&CatID=28605&Cat=Door+Panels&RefPageName=CategoryAll%252Easpx&RefDeptID=25437&RefCatID=28421&cmAMS_T=U3&cmAMS_C=C6) or a fabric roman shade. please don't use verticals. they're hideous, IMO, unless you live in an office building. tab top curtains don't actually slide well & don't look good unless the tabs are perfectly spaced apart. panels hung from the metal ring clips on a metal rod slide well & would be a good option for you, as would pinch pleats on a traverse rod.
