My ceiling leaked and when I came home after the flood my electric smooth stove was covered in water. Once the power came back on the red light on top that's supposed to light up only when the surface is hot came on and it wouldn't go back off. By the time my insurance adjuster came 2 weeks lighter, we flipped the breaker to the stove and the light was out so he wants me to use it and he doesnt want to cover it at all..not even to get a repairman to look at it. Needless to say since it is electric I'm afraid to use it. It's 4 years old and I paid $800 for it. What would you do in this situation??
thanks

aces67,
If a substantial amount of water flooded your stove, there is no doubt that it would be unsafe to use.
A suggestion would be to pay a qualified repair person to check it out and write a report.
The insulation atround the oven will be water logged which makes it unsafe to use.
Turn off the breaker immediately.
