My brother has a Kenmore 9530611 side by side fridge and the icemaker won't stop running. It ends up icing the inside of the freezer. He had it repaired once before, and the repair guy said it was a $9 part to fix it. Doesn anyone have any ideas?

Is it dripping an icing up where the water enters the tray or is it leaking bad.

According to my brother, the icemaker runs nonstop. Once the ice piles high enough, the fan cannot pass the air through there and the ice begins to melt.

Could be the water valve not shutting off all the way. Located in the back, bottom of the fridge inside the back cover. Remove cover, valve is probably located on the right corner. Remove the water line from the valve going up the fridge to the icemaker & see if water leaks out of the valve. If so, replace valve. Dave
