I have a Kenmore Dryer Model #86983110 which is about 15yrs old. My wife attempted to use it last week and told me it is not starting. I purchased a new switch from Sears ($36.95) and installed it. Still not working. Symptoms are when you try starting it, you can hear a faint clicking, (really faint). I thought for sure it was the switch. I changed out the 30amp breaker thinking it could be bad, but still nothing. I have dropped a lot of money into this dryer over the years, new belt, element, solinoid.

Any suggestions, before I go and purchase a new one?

you could try part #59 here. right by #3 around the lower middle.. If it is ok where is the clicking coming from.

Definitely check that. I thought you were talking about it when you said you replaced the switch.Should have known by price you paid. :cheshire:

If it is neither get back with where the clicking is coming from.
