newbie here,I want to install a pebble stone garden walk (about 15').Any links on how to do this? dig out dirt and then add 4" of gravel ?

Not much to it - at least put weed stopper fabric under the pebbles and you may want edging of course to keep the pebbles contained. If the area sees a lot of water you may want to put 4" of gravel as you said under the weed stopper so the whole thing does not become a muddy mess.
