:( Approx 5 yrs old. Will fill then the motor comes on and spins the belt, that agitator moves a fraction of a turn, then stops and the motor and belt continue to spin. After the wash cycle, the machine drains fine and goes into the spin cycle. Any guess as to what I'm looking at for a problem and can I fix it myself?
Thanks in advance.

Possibly part # 310 on this photo.

or the inside of the agitator where it keys in.

Ok, I'll let it drain and check it out. Will it be easy to tell if that's the problem. Again, thanks alot.

yes. Can you turn the agitator by hand now. If the piece is broke I think the agitator would turn pretty easy

:D Hey, thanks so much for your help. It does spin really easy....got it apart and the plastic teeth inside the drive bell are pretty much worn smooth. Calling now to see if I can find one in town or if they can have one for me tomorrow. Again, thanks alot for your help.

its hard to tell visually that the splines are trashed. you can feel it easily however
