I have a maytag DE313 dryer. If the door is opened, the motor shuts off but the heating element stays on. If the timer is set to OFF, the heating element shuts off. Looking at the schematic, it seems that this could only be caused by a shorted "ON" switch in the motor's centrifugal switch. Is this the probable cause and if so, can I replace the switch without changing out the whole motor?
