I have border up now and it is in good condition but I want to change it. Can I put the new border over the old? Thanks for any help

it's best to remove it. did you even try?
i'd be afraid that the edge of the old one would show thru as a ridge under the new one. (the new one's taller, right?)
if you attempt it, use vinyl-over-vinyl adhesive.

No I haven't tried to take off, the border is the same size. I'm also painting the walls so didn't know if I could paint over old border then put new border up. Thanks for your help.

If the old border is a wet and place type, it should be easy to remove . Once it is down, use one of those green kitchen scrubbies with hot water to remove any adhesive residue. Once that is dry, sand lightly, (if necessary), wipe with a cloth to remove sanding residue, and you should be ready to go!
Blessings,
Debbie

Hi. Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd just add to this one since it's the same subject I came here for. I wonder if the person who started the thread is still here? How did it work out for you?
I want to change the border in my daughters' room, but it's very high (right under a vaulted ceiling), and their room is filled with furniture and two loft beds which is just too much for me to move. I have the new border and it's actually just a tiny bit wider than the old. I wanted to just paste it right on the first one, if possible. The kind that's there is the wet and stick kind. That's also the same kind I bought.
Do the moderators or anyone else have any thoughts or advice for me? Thanks in advance! :)

as previously stated, if the existing border was prepasted and was installed using only water, then it should come down VERY easily. take it down. applying a new border over top of it will most probably cause it to fall off. then you'll have 2 borders on the floor and you'll need to purchase some adhesive to get the new one to stick. ie: more work & $ than simply pulling the existing one down first and then installing your new one.
