We have the largest capacity Whirlpool/Estate washer (top load) and dryer about 3 years old. Lately, holes are being torn in clothes (only shirts) and I can't figure out how. There isn't any sharp edges in either appliance and we never overload either one.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I've had this problem when I wash things with un-protected zippers or something like that... I'm very careful to zip & button all things like jeans or shorts now... HTH

Take off the fabric dispener cup from top of agitator, remove the plastic cover that you can now see with the cup removed & check to see if the bolt came loose that keeps the agitator tight on the tranny shaft. Might have come loose & let the agitator ride higher on the transmission letting your shirts get caught under the agitator & bottom of the tub. Dave
