I recently had a laminate floor installed and from day one noticed that the there are small spaces where the boards meet. This is not the case on the entire floor, just the majority. Is this an installation problem, material problem or is this just normal? Thanks in advance.

Laminates are supposed to fit tightly at the joints. Some laminates are not milled very well and can be very difficult to get together. Other times installers just fail to get the joints tight.
