I am having problems with my GE washing machine model GCXR2080T8WW,approx 7 Years old.A few monthes ago the belt was replaced with Gates # 6830(4l300w),the old GE belt had broken.A few days ago the machine stopped spinning and agitating,I removed the front panel and the new belt had came off but what was interesting was that the bottom face of the small pulley(the side of the pulley that faces toward the floor) had came off and was laying on the bottom of the machine. Is this a two piece pulley(there are serations where the bottom face of the pulley was originally installed)I pushed the pulley back together but it would not stay there.Do I need a new pulley or a new clutch or a new motor ?.And at what approx.price.
Can somebody help?
Thanks in advance.

Double check your model #. I couldn't get it to come up from where I get parts from. I can give you the parts # of a new clutch & belt. The part of the clutch housing where the belt rides on broke off. You will have to replace the whole clutch. Not hard at all to replace. Take the clip off & slide it off the motor shaft. The hard part to swallow is the price. The last clutch I replaced was a little over $100.00 with shipping. My guess is the aftermarket belt you put on caused alot of stress on the clutch pulley. Washer belts are designed to slip more than regular belts to take some of the strain of the motor trying to get the transmission up to full speed on the spin cycle. Use a genuine GE belt with the new clutch. Dave

Thanks Dave,I was wondering about my model # as I had checked a couple of online sites and nobody had my model listed(but it is the one that is on the tag).I am from Nova Scotia,Canada so maybe it is a Canada only model.I will check some of the Canadian sites. When I fix it I will use a GE belt,I used the Gates belt because I work at Napa auto parts and we had it in stock and the price was right(but I guess I will pay for it now.
Thanks again
