I have a Kenmore (Whirlpool mfg probably) model 665.15889000 dishwasher that fills with water, goes into "sensing" mode and does nothing else. Pressing cancel will drain the unit. Any ideas or advice is appreciated
Thanks, Mike

sounds like you are having a water temp/heater prob.... behind bottom toe panel should be a trouble shooting sheet and a test proceddure for it....

Thanks for the reply. Nothing behind the toe panel. When I tried it again with the door open, it filled with water then I heard a hum from the motor area?? (bottom middle). No wash action. Unit drained when Cancel pushed.
Any other suggestions??

sounds like the d/w motor may be locked up or something is lodged in the pump locking up the motor. The drain motor is a seperate pump and operates independently of the main wash motor/pump.
Hope this helps....
