I have a Kenmore fridge bought in 97 and the seal on the door appears to be gone. It doesn't close tightly up, doesn't suck up tightly. Sears said they can have a guy look at it for $65 plus whatever. Considering the age, should I have him fix it or is it going to cost 200 and I should have just bought a new one.

I assume you mean get a new gasket whan you say get a new one. Absolutely get a new one. He won't fix it he will put on a new one,and charge dearly for it.
They are not all that simple to put on though, You need to remove like 25% of the gasket and then put the new one on where you just took off the old one. Yhey come all wrinkled up so soften it up in some hot water and have a hair dryer handy set on low.
This is especially true if there are screws that have to be removed. They hold the door square and if you take them all off at once you will be in trouble.
