I just bought a house in dallas, tx with an existing sunroom with a glass roof.
Just curious if there are any ways to cool this room off somewhat. It seems to be very warm in the room during the day. Any suggestions?

That glass roof is an excellent solar collector. You are fighting an uphill battle to try cooling the room under it (and one that you probably can't afford to provide the utilities for!!).

Placing suncreen over the roof in the summer might be one option. What I do with mine is simply leave the windows open all summer (with the screens in place. Not cool, but it's no hotter inside the room than it is outdoors (often 110 to 115 degrees.)

An excellent idea. Sunscreen is a black mesh that only lets a percentage of light through. You could also have an awning custom made for your roof that you could roll out to the desired level, and would roll back up whenever you please. (tent and awning store) They even have motor driven systems. They could use material that blocks out 100% of the light if you so desire.

Thanks for the replies, luckily winter is coming and hopefully I wont have to worry about it for a few more months...
