My wife picked out a lminated floor material for a kitchen. The brand is ALLOC. The pattern is a 12 x 12 simulated quarry tile (Cordoba).
I have a plywood subfloor on 2x10 joists at 16" O.C., spanning about 10 to 12 feet. Good, solid, squeak free floor with no noticeable spring (20 year old townhouse). About 6 months ago, the previous owner (slumlord) put in cheap vinyl over a 1/4 new underlayment (stapled).
I turned an island 90 degrees, so I will have to fill in where there is no underlayment and vinyl if I leave the underlayment in. I can remove the underlayment and vinyl.
To keep the elevation similar to the adjacent carpeted area, I would like to remove the 1/4" subfloor and go directly on the plywood. Also keep the appliances at a reasonablr height.
1. Besides the package information does anyone have any comments on the product?
2. Any tricks or opinions on the installation and base.
Thanx for the help!!
