Hi all,

Looking for some advice on adding hardwood floors. I am planning on putting down hardwood downstairs and I am not sure what to do in the kitchen. I don't want to rip out the cabinets which means I will have to put the floor around them. I am not worried about blocking things in temporarily since we will redo the kitchen before the dishwasher dies (hopefully). But how do we make the edges of the floor look good? I know quarter round can work around the cabinets, but what about the dishwasher and stove?

2nd question - Has anyone used the click together floating floor hardwoods available nowadays? Are they as good as the glue down or nail down type?

Go under the dishwasher enough so the kick plate covers it or pull the dishwasher out and install the wood in that area. A dishwasher bottom can be modified so it fits again, unless it has a very, very low motor and pump.

Pull the stove out, and install wood. Put the stove back.

The only glueless floater I'll recomed is made by Kahr's.
