I have some balconies that were built more or less as flat roofs. That is, plywood over floor joists covered with tar paper and tar. 2x6 boards are placed on top of the tar for the flooring. Of course there is flashing where required. Being over thirty years old we have leaks caused partly by the edge of the 2x6s puncturing the flashing.
I want to re engineer/design the balcony to eliminate the 2x6s and add some slope. I think a modified bitumen topped by something that can be walked on will fit my needs. But I really do not know how to put it all together. I have searched the web but nothing I have found so far seems to fit.
Can anybody help?
Thanks
