Hi. I built a shed, and a door, which hung fine for about two days, and then it sagged and got stuck. I took down the door, even though I was very proud of it. Now I need a door. The rough opening is 26 1/2" x 67". Now, I could buy a pre-hung 24 x 80 door and cut it, right? Then, can I remove the bottom hinge and place it somewhere else on the door? Will moving the hinge cause the door to sag again? If so, where can I find a small door? PS, my rough opening can be expanded horizontally by about 4 inches, but not vertically. PSS It's a workshop, so it has to be warm inside.

What caused the door you made to sag? I would think you could repair it somehow and make it work. They make screen door turnbuckles that will pull up a sagging door.... OR you might be able to square the door and install some steel t-bracing across it. I would think that if it worked once, it can be straightened out, strengthened, and made to work again, except this time for a longer period of time!

Thanks for your reply. I think what caused the door to sag was that it was too heavy...I framed it with 2x4's, Dutch-door style, and attached exterior siding to the outside. I decided that trying to straighten it out with brackets would just make it heavier, so I cut a pre-hung door down to fit. This door sags, too :) but luckily, not enough to jam it. I'm going to have to be creative with my weather-seal, but so far so good. Any advice for how to make sure this one stays jam-free?
