I am building a very low height deck and am intending to hang the joists from the bearers. The problem is that I want to use a cross hatch pattern for the deck, so would need to have the joists run diagonally.
Is there a method that allows me to attach he joists in this way - I have seen that joist hangers only attach at right angles.
Thanks.
Tony

If you want to run the decking diagonally, do it. Simply reduce the spacing of your joists (16" o.co. rather than 24", or 12" o.c. rather than 16"). There is no reason to run the joists at a diagonal.
