My daughter wants to have voile draped over her bed. I can remember staying at a hotel once where there was a rod sticking out of the wall over the bed with curtain fabric draped over it but I can't find one anywhere around here (Crewe, Cheshire).
Does anybody have any smart ideas as to how I can drape voiles over her bed so that they cover each end (she has one of those old-fashioned iron daybeds) and can be pulled back so that part of the wall behind the bed is visable (she wants to put a painting on the wall there).
Looking forward to your responses.

i'm not sure i understand exactly how you want the fabric draped, so i'll try to find several different pictures.
here's a hoop canopy (http://www.domestications.com/parent2.asp?product=A13246x) that you hang from a single point on the ceiling.
or here's a semi-circular version (http://www.brylanehome.com/product.aspx?PfId=59745&producttypeid=1&DeptId=7553) that you attach to the wall above the bed.
or, i've seen these crane rods (http://www.countrycurtains.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=1363&itemType=PRODUCT&RS=1&keyword=swing) used on the wall above the bed for a hint of a canopy effect.
or do you want a flat panel of fabric to lay flat against the wall and come up and over the length of the bed and end above the foot of the bed, as in this pic of a ceiling mount rod? (http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/ProductsHOM.aspx?DeptID=25438&CatID=29084&CatTyp=DEP&ItemTyp=G&GrpTyp=SIZ&ItemID=0cc59ab&ProdSeq=3&ProdCount=19&Dep=Home+Furnishings&RefPage=SearchDepartment&ShowMenu=T&ShopBy=0&SearchString=canopy&S4DeptID=25438) ?
it's when you say that you want part of the wall behind her bed exposed that i'm confused....sorry.... actually, i've seen paintings hung on the wall above the bed, even WITH fabric draped there. i think they used hardware that held the artword out away from the wall a couple inches, so the fabric didn't look smashed flat. and the fabric was a beautiful backdrop for the picture.
