Just had my floors refinished with an oil base coat. My movers made a long scratch, and I was wondering what people would recommend to get rid of the scratch. Thanks in advance.

Your telephone.

Call the moving company to repair the damage they caused.

Ted is absolutel right. Your floor will need to be sanded and refinished. You won't be able to get by having just the scratch part sanded either, so don't let the insurance people of the moving company tell you that. Insist that the entire floor be redone by people YOU choose.

They do carry insurance that will cover the repair of your floor. They may try to bluff you out of believeing that (I've had that happen) so keep insisting they take care of the problem.

*I* made a big long scratch on my hardwood floor. :( I can't get the floors refinished at this point... is there something I can do to make it less obvious and "treat" it?

Thanks!
